Fog and icy roads: storm warning issued for Astana and 15 regions

Tengrinews.kz – Dense fog and icy conditions are expected across much of Kazakhstan on 25 November, according to Kazhydromet.
Astana is forecast to see thick fog and nighttime ice glaze.
Weather alerts have also been issued for the following regions:

Zhetisu Region: fog at night and in the morning in western, central and mountainous areas. Northeasterly winds of 15–20 m/s, occasionally reaching 23–28 m/s in the Alakol lake area.
Atyrau Region: fog expected in the west, north and south of the region, with intermittent fog in Atyrau city.
Mangystau Region: southeasterly winds of 15–20 m/s in northern, southern and central districts.
Kyzylorda Region: fog in southern areas.
West Kazakhstan Region: fog in the west, north and east. Fog also expected in Oral.
Aktobe Region: nighttime and morning fog in northern and eastern districts.
Karaganda Region: icy conditions expected at night in the east; intermittent fog in the north, east and south. Southerly and southwesterly winds up to 15 m/s in northern areas during the day. Fog also forecast in Karaganda.
Abai Region: nighttime snow, blowing snow and ice glaze in the east, south and center; fog in northern, eastern and southern areas at night and in the morning. Winds shifting from northwest to southwest at 15–20 m/s in western, northern and central districts.
East Kazakhstan Region: snow, blowing snow and ice glaze at night across the region; during the day these conditions will persist in the east and south. Fog at night and in the morning in western, northern and eastern parts. Winds shifting from northwest to southeast at 15–20 m/s in northern and southern areas. Ice expected in Ust-Kamenogorsk at night.
Kostanay Region: ice glaze forecast in western and northern districts; fog across the region. Southeasterly winds turning to southwesterly with gusts of 15–20 m/s in the north and east. Fog also expected in Kostanay.
Ulytau Region: intermittent fog in northern, eastern and central districts. Fog in Zhezkazgan during the night and morning.
Pavlodar Region: fog in southern and western areas, and in Pavlodar city.
North Kazakhstan Region: daytime light precipitation (rain, snow), ice glaze and blowing snow in the west, north and east; fog in the west. Southwesterly to westerly winds of 15–20 m/s, with gusts up to 23 m/s in the south.
Akmola Region: fog and nighttime ice glaze expected. Southerly and southwesterly winds of 15–20 m/s during the day in western, northern and eastern districts. Fog and nighttime ice glaze also forecast in Kokshetau.

Residents are urged to exercise caution due to reduced visibility and hazardous road conditions.
