Kazakhstan warns its citizens in Vietnam amid severe flooding
Tengrinews.kz – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has commented on the situation in Vietnam, where devastating floods and landslides continue to impact central regions, and provided an update on Kazakh tourists currently in the country.
According to MFA spokesperson Aibek Smadiyarov, several thousand Kazakh citizens are in Vietnam at the moment.
He noted that despite the scale of the natural disaster, Kazakhstan’s embassy has not received a single request for assistance from tourists.
Smadiyarov added that such weather conditions are typical for this time of year, urging citizens to remain vigilant and follow all safety instructions issued locally.
Vietnam is dealing with the aftermath of its most severe flooding in decades, triggered by torrential rains that caused casualties, destruction and mass evacuations. Tourist destinations from Hoi An to Nha Trang were hit hardest. In Hoi An, the historic center was left coated in thick silt after the water receded.
