President Tokayev urges businessmen to invest in their home villages and regions
Tengrinews.kz – During his speech at the second Forum of Agricultural Workers, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev called on successful entrepreneurs to contribute to the development of their native villages and regions, Akorda reports.
The President emphasized that agriculture has always been at the center of the state’s attention.
“I want to once again stress: the development of the agro-industrial complex directly determines the improvement of rural well-being. The state is implementing a number of projects aimed at improving rural settlements. Large-scale work is underway — from building infrastructure to attracting qualified specialists to the countryside,” Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said.
He noted that since 2019, the project “Aul – El Besigi” (“The Village is the Cradle of the Nation”) has been in operation, with more than 700 billion tenge allocated for the development of rural infrastructure.
Specific measures have been carried out in more than 2.5 thousand settlements across the country. As part of the “Aul Amanaty” program, more than 600 associations have been established. This year, the Government approved the Concept of Regional Development. Under this document, the powers of district akims have been expanded. They have been given the ability to independently develop and implement district development plans.
“Akims (governors) must support the implementation of products of joint-stock companies (cooperatives) by signing contracts with large companies. Overall, it is extremely important to attract private investment to rural areas. Business representatives must be actively involved in this process. Without a doubt, the contribution of successful entrepreneurs to the development of their native villages and regions will contribute to their prosperity,” Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stated.
According to the President, with their persistent daily work, all hardworking and determined Kazakhstanis are step by step increasing the nation’s wealth and building the country’s future.
“It is necessary to create conditions for such useful activities and encourage true patriots. We will continue to work on this,” Kassym-Jomart Tokayev added.
The President also noted that the digitalization of agriculture is of fundamental importance.
