“He is not a victim”: Prosecutors seek 11 years in prison for P. Diddy

Tengrinews.kz – Federal prosecutors in New York have asked a judge to sentence Sean Combs, better known as P. Diddy, to more than 11 years in prison, Yahoo News reports.
The request comes after a July verdict in which a jury found the music mogul guilty on two counts under the Mann Act for organizing the transport of sex workers for encounters with his girlfriends. The case is now in its final stage, with the judge expected to issue a sentence on Friday.
Prosecutors argued that the punishment should be no less than 11 years and three months.

“He is not a victim. The court must consider the real consequences of his actions on the victims,” the filing states.

Defense attorneys, however, asked for a 14-month sentence, claiming Combs had “changed” during nearly a year behind bars, learned self-control, and acknowledged the role of drugs in his past behavior.
Victims’ letters were included in the case files. Singer Cassie Ventura wrote:

“Since I was 19, Sean Combs used violence, threats and control over my career to keep me close. I still wake up from nightmares and fear for my family.”

Each of the two charges carries a maximum of 10 years in prison. If convicted on other counts still pending, Combs could face up to life imprisonment.
The trial against Combs, one of the most influential figures in hip-hop, began in May 2025. Over three decades, he rose to fame as a rapper, producer, and founder of Bad Boy Records.
He was arrested in New York on charges of sex trafficking, transporting individuals for prostitution, and racketeering. Authorities allege that for 16 years he organized so-called “freak-off” parties—exclusive sexual events exploiting women.
Since his arrest, Combs has been held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.
