US dollar rises by 2.5 tenge in Kazakhstan
Tengrinews.kz - The exchange rate of the US dollar saw a noticeable increase in Kazakhstan on August 1.
By the end of the afternoon trading session on the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), the average weighted exchange rate reached 543.24 tenge, marking a 2.52 tenge increase. The official rate set by the National Bank for August 1 stands at 540.78 tenge per dollar.
According to kurs.kz, as of now, the average dollar buying rate at exchange offices in Almaty is 542.76 tenge, while the selling rate is 545.14 tenge. In Astana, the average buying rate is 540.48 tenge, and the selling rate is 547.48 tenge.
Earlier, on July 30, the National Bank of Kazakhstan carried out foreign exchange interventions worth $125.6 million in an effort to stabilize the national currency amid speculative pressure and low market liquidity.
