President Tokayev to pay official visit to Kyrgyzstan
Tengrinews.kz - Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev is set to make an official visit to Kyrgyzstan, according to a statement from Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The announcement came during a meeting between Kazakh Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu and Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov. During the talks, Nurtleu updated Japarov on the current state and future prospects of bilateral cooperation, reaffirming Kazakhstan’s commitment to strengthening and expanding its strategic partnership with what it called “brotherly Kyrgyzstan.”
"The meeting emphasized key aspects of the preparation and organization of the upcoming official visit of the President of Kazakhstan to Kyrgyzstan," the Foreign Ministry noted.
No exact date for the visit has been announced yet.
It’s worth noting that on August 3, President Tokayev is scheduled to meet with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in Almaty. The two are expected to hold talks and visit the UN Regional Center for Sustainable Development Goals for Central Asia and Afghanistan.
