New flight route to launch between India and Kazakhstan
Tengrinews.kz – A new flight route will soon connect the capitals of India and Kazakhstan, expanding air travel between the two countries.
Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Transport is working on expanding flight routes and attracting foreign low-cost airlines. On February 5, Kazakh aviation authorities met with representatives from India's IndiGo Airlines and Astana Airport.
As a result, IndiGo plans to launch a new Astana–Delhi route starting May 14, 2025, with flights operating three times a week using Airbus A320/321 aircraft.
Additionally, Kazakhstan’s national carrier Air Astana will introduce a new Almaty–Mumbai route from April 20, 2025, also operating three times a week on Airbus aircraft.
According to the Ministry of Transport, passenger flights between the two countries are set to increase to 24 flights per week across five routes during the spring-summer season.
Currently, regular flights between Kazakhstan and India include:
Almaty–Delhi (7 flights per week by Air Astana, 7 flights by IndiGo)
Almaty–Goa (2 flights per week by SCAT Airlines)
Astana–Goa (2 flights per week by FlyArystan)
