Tesla owners are rushing to get rid of them in Kazakhstan – media

0

Tengrinews.kz – Tesla owners in Kazakhstan are selling their electric vehicles at significantly lower prices than the market rate, according to an article on Pravda.ru.

For example, a 2019 Model Y is being offered for 10–12 million tenge, while a new one costs around 22 million. A Model X, which is priced at up to 70 million tenge when new, is being sold for 30 million.

The publication notes that the reasons for abandoning Tesla vary. Owners cite high maintenance costs, a shortage of spare parts, and long wait times for deliveries. Additionally, Kazakhstan's harsh winters, with severe frosts and heavy snowfall, make using electric vehicles less efficient.

Another country where people are turning away from Tesla is Poland. This is linked to recent statements by Elon Musk. Polish politicians and public figures are calling for a boycott of the company's cars after Musk spoke at a rally of the far-right party Alternative for Germany, where he advised Germans to stop constantly apologizing for past mistakes.

Poland’s Minister of Sports, Sławomir Nitras, supported the boycott, stating that no rational Pole should buy a Tesla. He believes Musk's statements downplay the crimes of Nazi Germany during World War II.
