Tokayev met with Mishustin at Akorda
Tengrinews.kz - President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin at Akorda.
Mishustin is in Kazakhstan to participate in the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council and the Digital Almaty 2025 forum.
During the meeting, the two officials discussed prospects for strengthening the Kazakh-Russian strategic partnership, with a particular focus on trade, economic, and investment cooperation, including within the Eurasian Economic Union.
Tokayev praised Mishustin’s personal contribution to fostering friendly and neighborly relations between Kazakhstan and Russia. He also highlighted the importance of implementing agreements reached during Russian President Vladimir Putin’s state visit to Astana on November 27 last year.
"Relations between our countries are on the rise, covering almost all areas of cooperation. We view your visit to Astana as an important step in implementing the agreements reached at the highest level. During Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin’s visit to Kazakhstan, a regional forum was successfully held in Ufa. This year, we plan to hold the next forum in Uralsk, Kazakhstan. I believe this format of cooperation undoubtedly yields positive results," Tokayev emphasized.
Mishustin reaffirmed Russia’s commitment to continuing the practical implementation of tasks set by the two heads of state.
During his conversation with Mishustin, Tokayev announced that he had accepted an invitation from the Russian president to attend events marking the 80th anniversary of Victory Day.
