Kazakhstanis have been warned about a new type of fraud
Tengrinews.kz - The Cyber Police of Almaty has warned about a new type of fraud in Kazakhstan, according to Polisia.kz.
According to the information, there has been a rise in cases where criminals use Kazakhstani individual entrepreneurs (IEs) and limited liability partnerships (LLPs) to create the appearance of legitimate businesses.
An analysis revealed that these schemes are often operated by fraudsters based abroad. They offer to open a company in their name and lease it out, promising large rewards.
"Our advice: do not lease your individual entrepreneur and LLP to third parties, as there have been increasing cases of rented companies being used for criminal purposes. Otherwise, you may be held criminally liable. Additionally, you could face civil liability for material damage," emphasized Anes Kaldybaev, head of the Cybercrime Prevention Department of the Almaty Police Department.
Earlier, we reported that the residents of Almaty were warned about the increased activity of "investment" scammers.
