Financial Monitoring Agency put Chinese citizen on international wanted list
Tengrinews.kz - The Financial Monitoring Agency (FMA) has placed a Chinese citizen on the international wanted list. A Tengrinews.kz correspondent has uncovered the allegations against the foreign national.
In response to an official inquiry by Tengrinews.kz, the agency revealed that the Economic Investigation Department in Astana is handling a case involving Tian Baoyuan.
The individual is suspected of violating paragraph 2, part 2, of Article 214 of the Criminal Code ("Illegal entrepreneurship, illegal banking, microfinance, or debt collection activities involving income generation on an especially large scale").

Under this article, penalties include a fine of up to 5,000 monthly calculation indices (over 18 million tenge in 2024), corrective labor of the same value, up to 1,200 hours of community service, restriction of freedom for up to five years, or imprisonment for the same term, with confiscation of property.
"This individual has been placed on the international wanted list, and a preventive measure of 'detention in custody' has been imposed. Other details are not subject to disclosure," the FMA press service stated.
Earlier, the FMA uncovered a case of drug smuggling from the United States disguised as parcels containing consumer goods.
