0

Tengrinews.kz - The Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan has addressed questions regarding the financing of the Armed Forces and assessed their current combat readiness.
According to the ministry's response to an official inquiry from Tengrinews.kz, the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan are in need of additional funding.

"In light of the capabilities of the national budget, the defense ministry's expenses for 2025 have been supported by the national budget committee at 0.68% of GDP. There is an additional need, and this matter will be considered during the budget clarification for 2025," the ministry stated.

The ministry also assessed the country’s combat capability at present.

"According to the Military Doctrine of the Republic of Kazakhstan, ensuring the military security of the republic is of a defensive nature and reflects Kazakhstan's commitment to prioritize the use of diplomatic, political, legal, economic, and other non-military means to protect national interests. The Republic of Kazakhstan does not consider any state as an opponent," the response noted.

To enhance the army’s combat readiness, the ministry is actively improving the training and education system, implementing modern methods and technologies for military personnel preparation. Special attention is given to improving combat skills and tactical training, enabling the Armed Forces to operate effectively in various conditions and adapt to changing circumstances.

"International military cooperation and participation in multinational exercises are actively developed, facilitating experience exchange and improving interaction with partners. These initiatives aim to strengthen confidence in our Armed Forces and enhance our army's capability to effectively protect national interests and ensure the safety of our people," the ministry added.

The strategy for enhancing readiness and modernizing the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan is focused on creating a modern, mobile, and powerful army capable of addressing the challenges of the 21st century and ensuring national security amid rapidly changing geopolitical conditions.
