Video of bullying at Astana school: police opened a criminal case
Tengrinews.kz - Students who abused a peer at a school in Astana have been placed under internal school monitoring. This was reported by the capital's police department.
As stated by Dias Tokatov, the head of the Almaty district police department, a criminal case has been opened regarding the assault on the student.
"All participants in the fight have been placed under internal school register. The issue of the teachers' responsibility will be reviewed. The Astana police department is warning legal guardians about their responsibility for inadequate performance of duties in raising minors. We remind them of the need to monitor their children’s behavior," Tokatov said.
Under the new law on ensuring women's rights and child safety, which came into effect in June this year, Article 127-2 "Bullying (cyberbullying) of a minor" has been introduced in the Code of Administrative Offenses. Previously, such offenses were not punishable in Kazakhstan.
Recall that a disturbing case of bullying was videotaped in one of the schools in Astana, where a group of teenagers physically assaulted a student.
