Pavel Durov sued in Switzerland for child abuse
Tengrinews.kz - Irina Bolgar, who claims to be the mother of Pavel Durov’s three children, has filed a criminal lawsuit against the Telegram founder in Switzerland.
According to Forbes, Pavel Durov is accused of physical abuse against their child. The lawsuit was filed in Geneva in March 2023 after Durov stopped paying monthly child support of 150,000 euros.
Initially, the Geneva court dismissed the lawsuit, deeming it filed too late. However, after an appeal in May 2023, the case was reopened. Bolgar accuses Durov of abusing their son, resulting in injuries.
Additionally, she was granted sole custody of the children, and this decision was upheld in February 2024. Durov did not contest the ruling.
In related news, Konstantin Klimenko, the rector of the Eurasian International University, proposed nominating Pavel Durov, the founder of the social network VKontakte and the messaging app Telegram, for the Nobel Prize.
On August 24, it was reported that Pavel Durov was detained by French security services at Paris Airport.
