Mads Mikkelsen shares his impressions of Kazakhstan: 'I ate a lot of horse meat'
Tengrinews.kz - Dutch actor and Hollywood star Mads Mikkelsen held a press conference at the ComicCon festival in Astana, sharing his experiences in Kazakhstan.
The actor admitted that he tried many Kazakh dishes during his stay in Astana.
"I really liked Astana. I went on a tour, explored the city. Throughout my time here, I ate Kazakh food all the time, a lot of meat, a lot of horse. And I really enjoyed it. I've met the people, and I cannot compare them to people from Iceland. Kazakhs have such a pride in who they are, they seem really hospitable and welcoming. That happens when people are proud of themselves," Mikkelsen shared.
He confessed that he would like to return to Kazakhstan's capital, not just for a visit, but to participate in the World Nomadic Games.
"I would love to come back for the Nomadic Games. But i won't be just watching, I wanna be part of it. When I exited the airport, there was a big poster of a man on a horse with a bow and a bird on his hand. In the first American film I acted in, 'King Arthur,' I also played a nomad on a horse, with a bow and a bird on my hand. So, I would love to comeback, but next time I have to see the country and ride a horse," Mikkelsen admitted.
Mads Mikkelsen was one of the headliners at Comic Con Astana. The Hollywood star is known for his antagonist roles in films such as "Doctor Strange," "Casino Royale," "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story," and "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny."
