Arsenal now ready to schedule medical for £63.4m star after agreement - report

Arsenal are planning to schedule Viktor Gyokeres’ medical in Singapore following a transfer agreement with Sporting CP, according to The Independent.

The Sweden international emerged as the Gunners’ leading striker target earlier this month. The club have now finalised payment terms over a £63.4 million deal.

Gyokeres is reportedly determined to feature in Arsenal’s pre-season tour of Asia, and it is claimed that the club plan to fly the striker to Singapore for his medical tests.

The 27-year-old won’t be involved in tomorrow’s friendly against AC Milan, but he could be available to make his debut against Newcastle United on Sunday.

Cristhian Mosquera, who has already undergone his medical at Arsenal, recently travelled to Singapore. He could likewise make his friendly debut against the Magpies this weekend.

Arsenal have had a productive summer transfer window with four signings thus far.

Goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga was the club’s first acquisition, followed by midfield duo Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard. Winger Noni Madueke became the fourth arrival.

Mosquera should be the next to be announced, with formalities almost done, before the club confirm the long-awaited transfer of Gyokeres from Sporting.

The 27-year-old has won over the fans with his relentless desire to join the Gunners. He was hellbent on the move, and even skipped training at Sporting.

Gyokeres has still been following a ‘strict individual training plan‘, as per HandofArsenal. Hence, he should be directly involved in team training from the off.

He will need several training sessions to develop chemistry and adapt to the playing style, but fans could get a glimpse of him before the end of the month.

The Swede could make a cameo appearance versus the Magpies and could be involved in the starting XI for the north London derby against Tottenham Hotspur.
