Eighth festival a sign of how far jazz awareness has come in Charleston

The eighth annual Greater Charleston Lowcountry Jazz Festival, brainchild of Thaddeus Bell and his daughter Tonisha, kicks off Friday at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center.
