Child throws cat from 14th floor in Astana: who was held responsible

Tengrinews.kz — In Astana, a 9-year-old boy threw someone else’s cat out of a 14th-floor apartment building window. The animal’s owner reported the incident.
According to the Astana resident, she went out to walk her dog in the morning, and when she returned home, witnesses in the courtyard told her that her cat had been thrown out of a window.
The animal died. The owner filed a police report. According to her, the cat was thrown out by a neighbor’s son.
Tengrinews.kz contacted the Astana Police Department for an official comment. Police said they had established the circumstances of the incident.

“It was established that a 9-year-old boy pushed the cat, which was near the window, causing the animal to fall from the 14th floor and die,” the department said.

Because the child is below the age of administrative responsibility, his legal representative was held accountable.

“The child’s legal representative was held administratively liable for failing to properly fulfill their responsibilities in raising the minor,” police added.
