NSC dismantled 24 criminal groups across Kazakhstan regions

Tengrinews.kz – Since the beginning of this year, the National Security Committee, together with police and under the coordination of the prosecutor’s office, has stopped the activities of members of 24 criminal groups in a number of regions of the country, citing the committee’s press service.
More than 169 people, including group leaders, have been detained on suspicion of extortion, kidnapping, illegal possession of weapons and other serious crimes.

“Sources of illegal income linked to the organization of criminal schemes in border areas, industry and environmental protection have been identified and eliminated,” the NSC press service reported.

Pre-trial investigations are underway into these facts.
