Chelsea makes decision on Dastan Satpayev’s debut

Tengrinews.kz — Seventeen-year-old Kazakhstani Dastan Satpayev will start for Chelsea in the first match of the club’s preseason tour in Australia. The match will be his debut for the team in open fixtures.
Satpayev’s first match to be broadcast live will take place in Sydney. The London club will face local side Western Sydney Wanderers.

Dastan Satpayev — the first Kazakhstani in an English club
As a reminder, Dastan Satpayev’s transfer to Chelsea was announced last year, but only in June 2026 did he leave Kairat and move to London.
Seventeen-year-old Satpayev is the youngest goalscorer in the history of Kazakhstan’s national football team in official matches. He is also among the top 10 youngest goalscorers in Champions League history.
Satpayev’s value on Transfermarkt is currently estimated at 3.5 million euros — the highest value among all players of Kazakhstan’s national team.
The English Premier League season will begin on August 24, while Chelsea are currently on a preseason tour of Australia and Asia. The match in Sydney is the first of five upcoming fixtures.
