Weather forecast for Astana

March 10: partly cloudy, with occasional snow, blizzard conditions, and fog. Northwesterly wind at 9–14 m/s, with gusts of 15–20 m/s, and up to 23 m/s at times during the day. Air temperature: -8 to -10°C at night, -6 to -8°C during the day.

March 11: partly cloudy, snow and blizzard conditions at night. Southwesterly wind at 9–14 m/s, with gusts of 15–20 m/s. Air temperature: -25 to -27°C at night, -13 to -15°C during the day.

March 12: cloudy, snow, blizzard conditions. Southwesterly wind at 9–14 m/s, with gusts of 15–20 m/s, at times up to 23 m/s. Air temperature: -13 to -15°C at night, -3 to -5°C during the day.

Weather forecast for Almaty

March 10: cloudy, precipitation expected, with heavy precipitation (rain and snow) at times during the day, and icy conditions. Fog at times. Northwesterly wind at 3–8 m/s, with gusts of 15–20 m/s. Air temperature: +3 to +5°C at night and during the day, followed by a further drop later in the day.

March 11: cloudy, snow, with heavy snowfall at times during the night. Fog and icy conditions at times. Northwesterly wind at 3–8 m/s, with gusts up to 15 m/s at times. Air temperature: -8 to -10°C at night, -5 to -7°C during the day.

March 12: partly cloudy, no precipitation. Fog and icy conditions at times. Northeasterly wind at 3–8 m/s, with gusts up to 13 m/s at times. Air temperature: -12 to -14°C at night, -3 to -5°C during the day.

30-degree frosts hit Kazakhstan

According to forecasters, unstable weather is expected across most of Kazakhstan on March 10–12. Under the influence of atmospheric fronts, precipitation in the form of rain and snow is expected.

In the northeast and central parts of the country, heavy snow is forecast; in the south and southeast, there will be periods of heavy precipitation. Across the republic, stronger winds, fog, and icy conditions are expected, while the northern regions may see blizzards.

Air temperatures will rise in most regions. In the west and southwest, nighttime temperatures will warm to -6 to +2°C, and daytime temperatures to 0 to +10°C and +5 to +13°C.

In the northern and eastern regions, temperatures may locally drop to -30°C at night, after which a gradual warming is expected by March 12.
