Tokayev shares Xi Jinping’s impressions of Astana

Tengrinews.kz – President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has spoken about the impressions Chinese President Xi Jinping had of Astana, citing Akorda.
Speaking at a meeting on the development of Astana, the Head of State noted that the capital has a special status and is meant to serve as a model of modern urban development. In this regard, Astana has already achieved certain results and established a unified approach to the development of the urban environment.

“This was noticed by heads of state during global summits held here this summer. President Xi Jinping gave a positive assessment, saying that our city has significantly improved its appearance. This shows that even leaders of major world powers pay attention to the condition of our cities when visiting Kazakhstan. This must certainly be kept in mind,” Tokayev said.

As a reminder, Xi Jinping paid an official visit to Astana in June at the invitation of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. During the talks, the sides discussed issues related to further deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and China. Tokayev emphasized that the Chinese leader is always regarded as a particularly respected guest on Kazakh soil, and that his visit is clear evidence of the sincere and unwavering friendship between the two countries.
