Kazhydromet issued warning for residents of Astana and 9 other cities

Tengrinews.kz – Kazhydromet has published an official warning for residents of Astana, Almaty, Shymkent, and other cities on its website.
The warning concerns the air quality forecast for the upcoming Wednesday.

“On October 22, 2025, unfavorable meteorological conditions are expected in the cities of Petropavlovsk, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Semey, Ridder, Aktobe, Atyrau, Shymkent, Almaty, and at night in the cities of Astana and Kokshetau,” the statement said.

Unfavorable meteorological conditions for air pollution refer to a combination of short-term weather factors (such as calm winds, light breeze, fog, or temperature inversion) that contribute to the accumulation of harmful pollutants in the lower layers of the atmosphere.
Earlier, Kazhydromet forecasters presented the weather forecast for October 21, 22, and 23. During these days, an anticyclone will dominate most of Kazakhstan’s territory.
In the west, northwest, and extreme southeast of the country, the frontal part of a cyclone will influence the weather. These regions are expected to have mostly cloudy skies, with occasional precipitation (mainly rain) and heavy rainfall possible in the west.
Across Kazakhstan, wind intensification is forecast, and fog is expected in some northern and eastern regions during the night and morning hours.
Meteorologists added that significant temperature changes are not expected.
Earlier, Kazhydromet also reported on the upcoming winter forecast for Kazakhstan. According to preliminary data, the winter of 2025–2026 will be moderately warm, though sharp temperature fluctuations, snowstorms, and icy conditions are possible.
