"Not good for us": Marco Silva confirms 6 Fulham stars could miss Arsenal game with injuries

0

Fulham manager Marco Silva has confirmed a major injury crisis ahead of the Premier League clash against Arsenal at Craven Cottage on Saturday evening.

The Gunners have dropped points in the last two trips to Craven Cottage. They suffered a 2-1 defeat during the 2023/24 season before sharing the spoils last term (1-1).

Fulham have been a ‘bogey’ club for Mikel Arteta’s side, but the west London outfit face a tough challenge tomorrow with several key players on the sidelines or doubtful.

Speaking in his pre-match presser, Silva revealed that the Cottagers are in a worse situation than before the international break, with the possibility of six potential starters missing out.

The Portuguese tactician confirmed that Fulham will be without left-back Antonee Robinson, midfielder Sasa Lukic and striker Rodrigo Muniz for tomorrow’s London derby.

He added that winger Samuel Chukwueze could also miss out after sustaining a knock on international duty with Nigeria.

Aside from the quartet, right-back Kenny Tete and striker Raul Jimenez are doubts and may not be involved.

He told reporters: “The number of injuries, they are not good for us at the moment, and it is what it is – it’s not been the best in the last few weeks, and unfortunately, even because of the international break, we are probably in a worse situation than before.”

“Being clear, Robinson is going to be out. Sasa Lukic is going to be out. Rodrigo Muniz is going to be out. Chukwueze is probably going to be out and Kenny and Raul, they are doubts. Right now we are not sure that they can be involved in the squad list.”

Arsenal handed big advantage ahead of Fulham clash

The Gunners have had a good start to the campaign. They are on a four-game winning streak in all competitions, and should fancy their chances against Fulham.

Silva’s side are not an easy opposition to face with home advantage, but they are missing several key players. Tete, Robinson and Lukic would be guaranteed starters when fully fit.

Both Jimenez and Muniz scored against Arsenal last season. Silva will be hoping that the former passes a late fitness test to be involved in the London derby tomorrow.

Arsenal, on the other hand, have been handed a big advantage with Fulham’s injury crisis. They must capitalise and pick up their first away win at Fulham since March 2023.

The Gunners are one point ahead of second-placed Liverpool. They have the opportunity to extend their advantage with a victory if the Reds falter against Manchester United.
