“Flights could be canceled at any moment“: Foreign Ministry warns Kazakh citizens
Tengrinews.kz - Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a warning to citizens planning holidays in Middle Eastern countries.
The official representative of the Foreign Ministry, Aibek Smadiyarov, addressed the public with a cautionary statement.
"I’d like to appeal to all citizens planning vacations in the Middle East. We've been observing an extremely unstable geopolitical situation that is changing day by day. Despite this, flights to these destinations are still departing fully booked. For example, just yesterday, I believe Air Astana canceled several flights. Naturally, this raises concerns about how to bring people back. That becomes our headache — we have to find solutions. Please make an informed decision before heading to these countries for vacation. You are personally responsible for your safety," Smadiyarov said during a ministry briefing.
Smadiyarov emphasized that protecting the rights and interests of Kazakh citizens abroad is a key priority for the country's diplomats. He assured that Kazakhstan will provide necessary assistance if needed, but stressed the importance of following official guidance.
"The Middle East is currently in a very uncertain state. So before booking a trip there, people really need to weigh the risks. Yes, flights are still operating, but they could be suspended at any time. And then it will be a serious challenge to bring people back to Kazakhstan," the ministry spokesperson warned.
Earlier, Kazakhstan’s Foreign Ministry revealed how many citizens were evacuated from Israel and Iran.
