Private plane crashes near Astana, fatalities reported

Tengrinews.kz - A plane crash occurred near Zholaman Airfield outside Astana, resulting in fatalities, citing the Ministry of Transport.

"On June 22, 2025, at approximately 11:30 a.m., during a training flight near Zholaman Airfield (Astana), an aviation incident occurred involving a light aircraft, the TL-2000. The aircraft was privately owned. According to preliminary information, two crew members were on board, both of whom died," the statement said.

A commission will be formed to investigate the incident.

"Employees of the Department for the Investigation of Transport Accidents and Incidents of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan have been dispatched to the crash site," the ministry added.

Zholaman Airfield is located in the Shortandy district of the Akmola region, approximately 13 kilometers from downtown Astana.
