Azerbaijani airline suspends flights to another Russian city
Tengrinews.kz - Azerbaijani airline Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) has announced the suspension of flights to another Russian city.
According to the airline, flights on the Baku – Astrakhan – Baku route will be suspended indefinitely.
"Due to the recent, including today, regular closure of airspace over the Russian city of Astrakhan, AZAL is indefinitely suspending all flights en route Baku-Astrakhan-Baku to ensure flight safety," AZAL said in a statement.
The airline emphasized that passengers whose flights have been canceled can receive a full refund or change their flight date.
"Passengers of AZAL flights to and from the specified city, who are unable to use the airline’s services due to the current situation, have the opportunity to receive a full refund without penalties or rebook their tickets," said the airline.
On January 8, the airline also announced the suspension of flights to Kazan.
"Due to the recent regular closure of airspace over the Russian city of Kazan, AZAL is indefinitely suspending all flights en route Baku-Kazan-Baku to ensure flight safety.
Passengers of AZAL flights to and from the specified city, who are unable to use the airline’s services due to the current situation, have the opportunity to receive a full refund without penalties or rebook their tickets. AZAL continues to monitor the current situation closely and will inform passengers about any changes," the statement read.
It is also worth noting that flydubai temporarily canceled flights from Mineralnye Vody and Sochi to Dubai. Later, the airline extended the suspension of flights to Russian cities until January 22.
It is worth noting that the Kazakh airline Qazaq Air has also suspended some flights to Russia. The carrier announced the temporary suspension of flights on the Astana – Yekaterinburg route. For more details, follow the link.
