Another country will block TikTok
Tengrinews.kz - Albanian authorities will block TikTok in the country, Prime Minister Edi Rama announced, according to Euronews.
The politician accused TikTok of "inciting violence and bullying, especially among children."
The decision to block the popular social network followed a tragic incident in mid-November when a 14-year-old in Albania was killed by a peer. The murder was allegedly preceded by an argument that began on TikTok.
Speaking at a meeting with parents and teachers, Prime Minister Edi Rama stated that access to TikTok "would be fully closed for all. There will be no TikTok in the Republic of Albania."
The social network will be blocked next year, though the exact date has not yet been announced.
According to media reports, Albanian parents are increasingly expressing concern over numerous incidents of children bringing knives and other objects to school for conflicts or bullying. They believe such behavior is being popularized by content on TikTok.
It is worth noting that TikTok is reportedly completely banned in India and Hong Kong.
