The final piece of the 2025 Formula 1 puzzle clicked into place with Isack Hadjar’s confirmation at Visa Cash App Racing Bulls, completing a dramatic reshuffling of the grid.
Hadjar’s signing filled the last vacant seat, a consequence of Liam Lawson’s promotion to Red Bull Racing following Sergio Perez’s departure after a disappointing 2024 campaign.
This marked the culmination of a whirlwind driver market, one that saw established names depart and a fresh wave of talent emerge.
The 2025 season promises a thrilling mix of experience and youthful exuberance, with a remarkable six rookies set to line up on the starting grid in Melbourne next March.
This influx of fresh blood includes absolute beginners Hadjar, Kimi Antonelli, and Gabriel Bortoleto, alongside Oliver Bearman, Liam Lawson, and Jack Doohan, who have tasted F1 competition but are yet to complete a full season.
Their arrival signifies a changing of the guard, as Grand Prix winners Perez, Daniel Ricciardo and Valtteri Bottas, as well as well as Kevin Magnussen and Zhou Guanyu depart the grid.
The driver market was ignited in February by Lewis Hamilton’s bombshell announcement of his move to Ferrari, ending his storied partnership with Mercedes.
