Snow leopard and lynx caught on camera traps in Kolsay
Tengrinews.kz – Camera traps in Kolsay Lakes National Park captured the behavior of a snow leopard and a Turkestan lynx in their natural habitat.
Video of the endangered animals was shared by the Forestry and Wildlife Committee of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources on its Facebook page.
"Our cameras captured amazing footage of these rare animals," the post to the video says.
A snow leopard was spotted at night in the park, confidently behaving in its natural environment. The camera trap also captured a rare moment with a Turkestan lynx, which, having noticed its prey, was preparing to pounce, but at the last moment changed its mind and abandoned the target.
"These shots not only show the daily life of predators, but also confirm that conditions for their habitation have been created in the park," the department noted.
As you know, a camera trap is a device designed to automatically take photos or videos when motion is detected. It is usually used for wildlife monitoring, private property protection, or research purposes. It is equipped with a motion sensor that activates the camera when an object appears in the field of view.
Earlier, a camera trap set up in the Katon-Karagai State National Natural Park has captured footage of rare inhabitants.
