The Embassy addressed Kazakhstanis planning to visit Russia

Tengrinews.kz - The Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Russia reminded its compatriots about the new rules for entry into the Russian Federation.
It is reported that an experiment is being conducted in Russia to collect biometric data from foreign citizens (including citizens of Kazakhstan) and stateless persons upon entry and exit from the country.

"At the first stage of the experiment, from December 1, 2024 to June 30, 2026, citizens of Kazakhstan arriving at Moscow's international airports (Domodedovo, Sheremetyevo, Vnukovo and Zhukovsky), as well as through the Mashtakovo automobile checkpoint in the Orenburg region, are required to submit biometric data - facial images and fingerprints," the embassy said in a statement.

At the second stage, from June 30, 2025 to June 30, 2026, the experiment will cover all checkpoints across the state border of Russia. During this period, a digital profile will be created for each incoming foreigner (including a citizen of Kazakhstan). Moreover, it will be possible to create such a profile independently in the RuID application, which will become an analogue of government services for citizens of other countries and will offer the opportunity to report a visit and receive various services in Russia (for example, issue medical insurance). The digital profile will be integrated into a number of government systems, including government services.

"We recommend that you be prepared in advance for additional procedures at border crossing points," the embassy addressed Kazakhstanis.

The experiment does not apply to:

employees of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in Russia and their family members;
holders of diplomatic and service passports;
children under 6 years of age.

Recall that the new rules for entry into Russia became known in September. Then it was reported that at the Mashtakovo automobile checkpoint in the Orenburg region on the border with Kazakhstan, a procedure for photo and fingerprint identification of foreigners entering Russia would be launched as an experiment.
