An Emeritus Professor of Chemical and Food Engineering at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, Prof. Aguilera has made outstanding contributions to food research, development, education, and international collaboration.Considered a pioneer in the study of food microstructure, he has published over 230 peer-reviewed papers and 13 books, and also consulted for leading global food companies. His work has earned numerous awards both in Chile and internationally, and this latest honour is a well-deserved addition to his distinguished career.
