Meteorologists warned residents of Almaty

Tengrinews.kz - Kazhydromet has warned residents of Almaty and two other cities.

"On October 22, 2024, unfavorable meteorological conditions for air pollution are expected in the cities of Petropavlovsk, Balkhash, and Almaty," the statement said.

Unfavorable meteorological conditions are a combination of short-term meteorological factors (calm, light wind, fog, inversion), which contribute to the accumulation of harmful (polluting) substances in the surface layer of atmospheric air.
The forecasters also presented a weather forecast and hazardous weather phenomena across Kazakhstan for October 22.

"With the passage of atmospheric fronts, rain will fall over most of the country, with thunderstorms in the south and southeast, and in the northern regions, precipitation (rain, snow) is expected during the night. Fog is expected at night and in the morning across the republic, and in the south, southeast, and east, wind intensification is expected," the meteorologists said.

Previously, meteorologists have presented the long-awaited weather forecast for the upcoming winter of 2024/2025 in Kazakhstan. According to specialists, Kazakhstanis can expect a typical winter with frequent precipitation and sharp temperature fluctuations.
