KNB issues statement on kokpar incident at World Nomad Games

Tengrinews.kz - The National Security Committee of Kazakhstan has addressed the incident that occurred during the World Nomad Games in Astana.
The KNB stated that on September 12, 2024, information circulated in the media and on social networks alleging that a KNB officer exerted pressure on a Kyrgyzstan kokpar player was incorrect.

"The information is not accurate. KNB officers did not participate in maintaining security and public order during the fifth World Nomad Games. We recommend relying only on official sources of information," the KNB press service said.

The kokpar final between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan was interrupted six minutes before the end of the first half, with the score at 1:3 in favor of Kyrgyzstan, due to a conflict on the field. Police intervened to separate the players, and the match resumed after a 30-minute delay.
