Kazakh pop-star breaks silence on harassment scandal involving her ex-deputy father
Tengrinews.kz - A scandal erupted with former Majilis deputy Askar Sadykov. His daughter, who is a Kazakh singer Dequine (Daneliya Sadykova), has commented on the situation.
It was previously reported that Majilis deputy Askar Sadykov was stripped of his mandate and expelled from his party. Azat Peruashev, the leader of the Ak Zhol Party, stated that the decision was based on "actions by A. Sadykov that were unacceptable for the status of a deputy."
Later, Peruashev wrote on his Telegram channel that a Parliamentary staff member had complained about harassment by the deputy. The Ak Zhol Party had previously accused its former deputy of violating the Criminal Code.
Sadykov is the father of the popular singer Dequine. The artist posted that she was deeply shocked by what was happening.
"Recently, many news stories have emerged due to this event. My father was publicly accused of harassment in the workplace. Like you, I am deeply shocked by what is happening. I don't know what to do, whom to believe, or how to react in this situation. Life didn't prepare me for this. For someone who has already gone through a difficult public harassment case, this is an incredible stress," Dequine wrote.
The girl added that the situation with her father struck at the two main values in her life: family and women's rights to bodily integrity.
"I want to clarify that, just as I spoke out against violence several years ago, I remain committed to those same principles now. Thank you to everyone who supports and sympathizes with me during this difficult time. Your support is invaluable to me," Dequine wrote.
Earlier, the Ministry of Internal Affairs has commented on the detention of the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the National Guard.
