Not seen this mentioned yet today, but yet another bite taken out of the security checks and balances around the world as America looks inward for Defence. Especially concerning whilst simultaneously carrying out or supporting events and actions that destabilise various regions.

One paper released by the Pentagon shouldn't be so important, but this feels like a watershed as they confirm in policy that old allies will be abandoned and support withdrawn

I'm not in total alignment with your viewpoint. I think the world is changing but I don't think war is imminent. There is a realigning of alliances. That doesn't automatically equal war.

The mentality of humans is completely different now to 80 years ago. As you say, people are unprepared for war, and I think most people in Europe and the US don't have the stomach for it.
