Re: Council tax
Here is a radical idea. Essentially running a council is like running a huge business, cashflow in, cashflow out. Many departments.
Council tax payers are essentially shareholders, why do we have councillors, who I believe in large majority have no experience in running any business, let alone large business. Would it be more use if we as shareholders had the right to vote who runs the council e.g. elect the CEO?
I too live under Worcs CC. Clueless Reform leader, been in for 9 months. Not done one jot in looking at the structure and waste in council offices, like they said they would. Instead blames the previous incumbents (standard politics), hikes the council tax 9% and saves 30m of future projects.
Paul Robinson has been CEO of Worcs CC for 8 years, never heard or seen him. What exactly is he doing to earn his 200k salary (as at 2023)? Running up huge debts less services and huge hikes in council tax.
