'Mayor of Kingstown' Kicks Off Production On Fifth & Final Season, David Morse Joins Cast

Filming has officially begun on the upcoming final season of Mayor of Kingstown!

Paramount+ announced the start of production on the drama television show’s forthcoming fifth season, which was announced to be renewed earlier this year.

Jeremy Renner and co-creator/co-star Hugh Dillon can be seen on set in first look photos as they start on the final episodes in Pittsburgh, Penn.

It was also announced that David Morse is joining the cast as a series regular, in the role of Russell Hardy, who is “a seasoned FBI agent sent to Kingstown.”

Here’s a season five synopsis: In the wake of Tracy’s murder and the vengeance visited upon Callahan by Mike (Renner) and Kyle (Taylor Handley), FBI agent Russell Hardy (Morse) arrives in Kingstown searching for the “fugitive” Callahan. A true lawman, Agent Hardy threatens to unearth all of Mike’s sins and secrets, and disrupt Kingstown’s tenuous balance of power.

Also reprising their roles include Hugh, Edie Falco, Laura Benanti and Lennie James, who joined in season four, as well as Tobi Bamtefa, Derek Webster, Necar Zadegan and Nichole Galicia.
