60 Greatest Modified Drivers of All-Time: Mike Christopher, Sr.

Christopher came onto the modified scene alongside his twin brother Ted and won his first race at Stafford in 1985.  Christopher wouldn’t win his second race at Stafford until the 1989 season when he won 3 races and his first of three SK Modified® championships.  Christopher would again win the SK title in 1990 and secured a third championship in 1993.  From 1987-1996, Christopher teamed with his brother Ted and Bob Potter to win the SK title every year with Potter taking 5 titles, Mike 3, and Ted 2.

Christopher scored wins at other area tracks during his career and his final Stafford SK victory came in the 2002 SK Modified® 100 where he filled in for his brother Ted behind the wheel of the #13 Mystique Motorsports Chevrolet.  In addition to his SK Modified® exploits, Christopher has 75 career starts on the Whelen Modified Tour with a career best finish of 2nd, including a 2004 race at Loudon, NH where he finished second behind his twin brother Ted in a second Mystique Motorsports car with his familiar #82.
