Gwen Stefani Shares How Getting Pregnant at 43 Inspired Her to Become a Christian
Gwen Stefani is opening up about her journey into Christianity.
The 56-year-old singer said that getting pregnant with her son Apollo Bowie Flynn Rossdale when she was 43 inspired her.
“I really wanted to have another baby. I really did. I couldn’t and I was old and started talking about all these things…it was waking me up,” she shared in an interview on the Hallow: Prayers and Meditation YouTube channel last week.

Part of it was because her oldest son, Kingston, 8, said he “really wanted [her] to have a baby,” and Gwen believed she was “too old” to have one.
“He was like, ‘Please God, let my mommy have a baby. I just remember thinking, look at my little boy. He’s praying for me!” she recalled.
She said he would pray for her to have one every night despite never being told to do so.
“I never taught him that, really,” she said. “I think it was four weeks later and I was pregnant with Apollo, who I had at 44 years old, naturally, totally a full-on gift. That was the first miracle.”
The Grammy winner revealed she felt pressure because she didn’t “know enough” about Christianity.
She continued, “It’s almost scary because the more you know, the more fear you get. You realize, ‘Oh my gosh, I’m running out of time and I need to get this together. I’ve got to be a real Christian! I’m not gonna make it.’”
Gwen credits finding Pastor Mike Schmitz and his sermons with helping her find “this truth,” and has since partnered with the Catholic prayer app Hallow.
Hallow has generated controversy in the past, something Selling Sunset‘s Chrishell Stause called out Gwen about previously.
