0

A total of 45 flights were cancelled on Tuesday to and from both Larnaca and Paphos airport as regional tensions due to the US-Israeli conflict with Iran continued to disrupt air travel.

Airport scheduling data showed 16 arriving flights and 13 departing flights cancelled, affecting routes mainly linked to the Middle East.

Flights involving destinations such as Tel Aviv, Beirut, Doha, Dubai and Amman were among those impacted.

A connection to Heathrow Airport in the United Kingdom was also cancelled.

Airlines affected included Israir on the Tel Aviv route, Qatar Airways to Doha, TUS Airways to Tel Aviv, Air Haifa on the Haifa route, Aegean Airlines to Tel Aviv, Wizz Air services to Tel Aviv and Abu Dhabi, Royal Jordanian to Amman, Sun d’Or International Airlines to Tel Aviv, Cyprus Airways flights to Beirut, Tel Aviv and Dubai, and British Airways to London Heathrow.

The cancellations were mirrored in both directions, affecting arrivals and departures from Cyprus.

At Paphos airport, flights were also affected, with Ryanair services to Amman being cancelled, along with flights operated by Air Haifa.

These cancellations also applied to return services.

Passengers with scheduled travel have been advised to contact their airline or travel agent directly to obtain the latest information regarding the status of their flights, as schedules may continue to change depending on security developments and regional airspace restrictions.
