Always BlueA quick search on AI … in the last 20 years, excluding those that go ‘straight back up’ after a relegation, the average number of years a team spends in the championship before promotion to the Premier League - and importantly not getting immediately relegated - is 5 years (median 4). Presumably they spend that time steadily building something that is sustainable, investing, making lots of mistakes, just missing out, changing staff and players until they hit upon the right formula for success. Let’s hope for sooner but this is year 1 for us of course.
This is conveniently glossing over the fact that we've only spent one year in L1 in the last decade. This division isn't new to us, it's just new to the coach.
