NBA Fans Shocked By Atlanta Hawks’ Move to Honor Iconic Strip Club
The NBA continues to be a league that evolves, and according to news today, it’s taking a giant step in its evolution. Down in Georgia, the Atlanta Hawks announced in a press release that on Monday, March 16, it will host Magic City Monday against Southeast division rivals, the Orlando Magic. This is quite the big deal, considering Magic City is a legendary strip club in Atlanta that first opened its doors in 1985. In the press release, the Hawks state:
“The Atlanta Hawks today announced a special one-night collaboration to celebrate the city’s iconic cultural institution Magic City, during the team’s home game against Orlando on Monday, March 16. As part of this celebration, the Hawks have worked with Magic City to bring the ‘best of’ the phenomena for fans in attendance at the award-winning State Farm Arena.”
Last year, Hawks’ principal owner, filmmaker, and actor Jami Gertz helped produce the Magic City: An American Fantasy docuseries and said of the special night in basketball:
“This collaboration and theme night is very meaningful to me after all the work that we did to put together Magic City: An American Fantasy. The iconic Atlanta institution has made such an incredible impact on our city and its unique culture.”
So with all that being said, what can fans in Atlanta look forward to? Also, what are they actually saying about this intriguing night in basketball?

Again, the event goes down on March 16 when the Hawks face off against the Orlando Magic. Prior to the start of the game, there will be a special live recording of the Hawks AF Podcast, featuring Magic City founder Michael “Mr. Magic” Barnery, Grammy-winning rapper and homegrown Atlantan T.I., and Atlanta’s own comedian D.C. Young Fly. Additionally, DJ Esco will curate some special pregame music.
Also adding to the night, the Magic City Kitchen will serve their “world famous” lemon pepper wings (both Louwill Lemon Pepper BBQ and traditional Lemon Pepper). Furthermore, fans can purchase limited-edition Peachtree-themed hoodies.
Arguably the biggest draw of the night is the fact that T.I. is slated to perform during the game’s halftime show presented by Jack Daniels. The guy has plenty of hits under his belt to keep fans entertained.

Atlanta Hawks celebrating a staple in Magic City with a halftime performance by T.I. is something you would of thought Donald Glover wrote for an extra episode of Atlanta season 1.
