Metallica announces 2026 Sphere residency in Las Vegas

Metallica is headed to the desert.

The heavy metal icons have officially announced their Life Burns Faster residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas.

The eight-show run is set for Oct. 1 and 3, 15 and 17, 22 and 24, and 29 and 31 and will continue the band’s No Repeat Weekend tradition first introduced with the 2023 launch of its M72 World Tour. That means no songs will be repeated across each Thursday and Saturday pairing during the residency.

Two-night No Repeat Weekend tickets and single-night tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, March 6. Fans can register for tickets and find information about presales, enhanced experiences and travel packages at metallica.lnk.to/MetallicaSphere.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame band — featuring James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo — has long been known for pushing the boundaries of its live productions. Since kicking off in spring 2023, the M72 World Tour has drawn more than 4 million fans across Europe, North America, the Pacific Rim and the Middle East.

At the Sphere, the band plans to tap into the venue’s immersive technology to reshape its catalog staples and deep cuts alike. The 17,600-seat venue features a wraparound LED display that extends up and around the audience, immersive spatial audio and multi-sensory 4D elements designed to heighten the live experience.

“About 12 seconds into the opening night of Sphere with U2 back in ’23, I thought, ‘We have to do this, it’s completely uncharted territory!’” Drummer Lars Ulrich shared in a statement. “This residency gives us another chance to reinvent how we interact with our fans in a live setting. We are beyond excited to share this with the world in six months time, and way psyched to go next level!”

Since opening in 2023 with a high-profile residency by U2, the Sphere has become a destination venue, hosting runs by acts such as Eagles and Dead & Company, along with immersive film presentations and special events.

With Las Vegas just a short flight or drive from Southern California, the residency is expected to draw fans from Los Angeles, Orange County and the Inland Empire looking for a weekend destination built around one of heavy metal’s most enduring live acts.

The residency is produced by Live Nation and presented by inKind. For updates and additional details, visit metallica.lnk.to/MetallicaSphere.
