Thousands of Babies Have Been Saved Thanks to Abortion Pill Reversal

The call came in after hours, long past quitting time. The young woman, whom I will call Kaylee, had phoned in a desperate attempt to find an answer to the question that was haunting her: Can my abortion be reversed?

Dr. George Delgado has faced that question numerous times. The answer lies in his new Ignatius Press book, Abortion Pill Reversal: A Second Chance at Choice.

With chemical abortions [or “medication abortion” in pro-abortion parlance] now accounting for the vast majority of abortions in the U.S., the demand for abortion pill reversal (APR) is on the rise. Pregnant women who have taken the first abortion drug, mifepristone, have been known to change their minds and wish they could reverse course.

Studies show that in about two-thirds of all cases, chemical abortions can be reversed. As a result, an estimated 8,000 children have been saved through the reversal process.

8,000! Just think of how many more lives could be saved if more pregnant women were aware of this life-saving option.

Delgado’s book provides new hope for women who are pressured into chemical abortions by boyfriends, husbands, parents, or other significant people in their lives. It empowers them to turn the corner, fight back against the abortion industry, and save the life of their baby.

Some of the most poignant moments in Delgado’s book involve testimonials from women who have undergone abortion pill reversal. Women like Sarah Hurm, who had been struggling to provide for her children when her youngest child’s father insisted an abortion was her only option.

But, once Sarah took the first pill, she realized she was making a tragic mistake. In consultation with a doctor who found her unborn child still had an active heartbeat, Sarah took progesterone— “CPR for these babies victimized by the abortion industry,” as Christa Brown describes it—to counteract the abortion drug.

The process worked! In January of 2019, she gave birth to Baby Isaiah.

“Watching Isaiah grow has just been a joy.” she remarks. “He is so full of life. He is kind, outgoing, compassionate, and intense.”

Sarah goes on to say, “…motherhood is my greatest legacy and accomplishment.”
