Abbas Araghchi Travels to Geneva for Second Round of Iran–US Nuclear Talks

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi departed for Geneva to participate in the second round of nuclear negotiations with the United States.

Iran’s foreign ministry confirmed talks will take place Tuesday, with negotiations conducted indirectly through mediation led by Oman.

During the visit, Araghchi is also expected to meet Swiss and Omani officials as well as representatives of the International Atomic Energy Agency.

The first negotiation round was held in Muscat about ten days ago, where both sides agreed to continue diplomatic engagement despite persistent political tensions.

Tensions between Iran and the United States have intensified in recent months over Tehran’s nuclear program and regional security concerns.

Meanwhile, Washington has strengthened military deployments in the Middle East, sending additional naval forces as negotiations attempt to avoid possible escalation.

Observers say upcoming talks in Geneva are seen as a critical test for diplomacy, with both sides facing pressure to prevent further conflict.
