SC to examine PIL against I-T's digital search powers

The Supreme Court will hear a PIL challenging expanded search powers granted to income tax authorities under the Income Tax Act, 2025. The law allows officials to access computers, cloud servers, emails, social media, and personal digital devices if they “reason to believe” income is hidden.
