Is Shakira Going to Make an Appearance at Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl Halftime Performance? The Answer Is…
Ahead of the Super Bowl halftime show tonight, performed by Bad Bunny, fans have wondered who his surprise guests will be. Last year, Kendrick Lamar brought an array of surprise guests, from Serena Williams to Samuel L. Jackson, and we have no doubt Bad Bunny will do the same. While we’ve checked out all the fan theories about who will perform with him, we now know the fate of a big one: Shakira.
When Shakira and Jennifer Lopez performed at the 2020 Super Bowl halftime show, Bad Bunny made an appearance, and many believed there was a chance the two could reunite with him. However, it seems Shakira won’t be making another Super Bowl appearance anytime soon.
From now until Feb 15, Shakira has been prepping (and now performing) a series of concerts in El Salvador at the Jorge “El Mágico” National Stadium, per Marca. So, sadly, it seems Shakira won’t be making her way to the halftime show with Bad Bunny.
On Sept 28, 2025, it was announced that the performer for the 2026 halftime show would be Bad Bunny, and months later, it’s coming to life!
“Last night, I couldn’t sleep,” he said during a press conference for the show, per the BBC, admitting he’d woken up “thinking about the Super Bowl at 4am.”
