Trooper and pilot mourned after being killed in an Arizona law enforcement helicopter crash

Arizona law enforcement officers are mourning a veteran U.S. Marine pilot and a trooper paramedic killed in a helicopter crash after they responded to a shootout with a domestic violence suspect. The crash happened Wednesday night in Flagstaff. Officials say trooper Hunter Bennett and pilot Robert Skankey were killed. The suspect's identity has not been released. Police say the almost two-hour gunbattle began when the suspect shot at officers, then fired on them from multiple rooftops. The suspect was taken to a hospital with nonfatal gunshot wounds. What caused the helicopter to crash is under investigation.
