Violence, shutdown in Kuki areas over MLAs joining Manipur government

Fresh violence erupted in Manipur's Kuki-inhabited areas after Kuki-Zo legislators joined the government. Protests turned violent in Churachandpur district, with clashes between mobs and security forces. Five people were injured. The Kuki-Zo Council declared a social boycott of MLAs involved in the government formation. The situation remains tense.
